Celine Dion Returning To ‘Beauty And The Beast’ With New Song

Beauty Celine Dion

As if we weren’t already counting down the days until the remake of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast hits the big screen on March 17, now we have yet another reason to get excited—Celine Dion is back.

When Disney revealed that Ariana Grande and John Legend would be performing the films’ famous theme, we were excited to hear the new duo together, but admittedly a little disappointed that Dion wouldn’t be a part of the soundtrack. Thankfully, we’re getting both.

Just announced on the pop superstar’s Instagram, Dion will be returning to the Beauty and the Beast franchise, once again lending her famous vocals to the films’ soundtrack.

Dion made the announcement on her Instagram page, writing, “I am thrilled to announce that I’ll be performing an all-new original song, “How Does A Moment Last Forever,” for Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast. Being a part of the original film was such a magical experience in my life, and I’m truly honored to be a part of this film again.”

Thanks to her work on the animated version of Beauty and the Beast back in 1991, Dion’s duet with Peabo Bryson for the films’ theme helped the animated film take home both the Academy Award and the Golden Globe for Best Original Score, also winning Best Original Song at the Globes for the track, which was written by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman.

Dion will be reunited with Menken as well as Oscar-winning lyricist Tim Rice for the new original song, “How Does A Moment Last Forever.”

In addition to Dion’s “How Does A Moment Last Forever,” the upcoming remake will include a performance of another original song from Downton Abbey star Dan Stevens, who plays the Beast opposite Emma Watson’s Belle.

Watson and Stevens will be joined on screen by an all-star cast, including Luke Evans as Gaston, Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts, Josh Gad as Le Fou, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Plumette, Audra McDonald as Madame De Garderobe, Kevin Kline as Belle’s father Maurice and Stanley Tucci as a new character named Cadenza.

Beauty and the Beast will arrive in theatres on March 17.
