The visuals have arrived for Charlie Puth and Kehlani’s “Done For Me,” and they sure are steamy.
The sensual new music video, directed by RJ Sanchez and Brendan Vaughan, sees the duo in a retro-chic setting caught in a funky love triangle. Featuring colourful lighting and platform beds, Puth and Kehlani passionately sing along to the groovy beat with lyrics detailing an unreciprocated love.
Adhering to a very ’80s disco aesthetic, the “Done For Me” video is shot in low lit retro spaces and has the pair decked out in satin clothes, laying in shimmering satin bed sheets,. With voluminous hair and retro duds, Puth croons to his reflection in a mirror, “I lie for you, baby / I die for you, baby / Cry for you, baby / But tell me what you’ve done for me,” while things take a steamy turn as Kehlani takes his girl into a bubble bath.
The camera pans over the trio as the unnamed woman goes back and forth between Puth and Kehlani, who recently detailed her queer sexuality on Twitter. By the final scene, it seems the ladies have won this one.
“Done For Me” marks 23-year-old Kehlani’s most recent collaboration, having previously been featured on mega tracks with other artists like Stormzy, Calvin Harris, Zayn, G-Eazy, Post Malone, and even rap icon Eminem for the Revival cut “Nowhere Fast.”
Last month in a Beats 1 interview with Zane Lowe, Puth opened up about the collaboration with the Oakland-native and how it came to be.
“You know when you meet somebody and you just know that you’re going to be friends with them for a really, really long time?” said the 26-year-old pop star. “That was her when I met her. She’s just such a warm and outgoing person and just such a good distinct voice.”

“Done For Me” comes from Puth’s forthcoming sophomore album Voicenotes, due out May 11. The new album will also feature “Attention,” “How Long,” the Boyz II Men duet “If You Leave Me Now,” “Patient,” and the guitar-driven, John Mayer-esque track “Change” featuring James Taylor. Puth will also be kicking of his summer tour in support of Voicenotes this July in Toronto with special guest Hailee Steinfeld.
