Justin Bieber returned home last night for an intimate show at Toronto’s Danforth Music Hall. The 1,500 capacity venue was sold out in two minutes by Beliebers anxiously awaiting the return of the Canadian pop star following the November release of his album, Purpose.
An Evening With Justin Bieber continued the singer’s holiday tradition of giving back to the community by donating the proceeds from last night’s concert to the Stratford House of Blessing, a food bank that helped Bieber and his mother when they were struggling during the singer’s childhood.
Though Bieber has already announced a North American arena tour for 2016 in support of Purpose, with two dates at Toronto’s much larger Air Canada Center venue, the 21 year-old wanted to make a trip fun for a smaller show before the holidays.
During the 90 minute concert, Bieber performed acoustic versions of his hits, including What Do You Mean, One Less Lonely Girl, Sorry, and Love Yourself, with his longtime musical director, Dan Kanter. The two also took on some holiday classics and covers, including The Beatles, Tracy Chapman, Ne-Yo, and fellow Ontario-native Drake and his viral hit, Hotline Bling.
Bieber answered fans questions throughout the show and made it a family affair, bringing his young siblings Jaxon and Jazmyn on stage.
