Crystal Castles Release ‘Char’ And Announce New Album

Crystal Castles Char

Crystal Castles are proving there’s life after line-up changes. The Toronto electronic band saw the departure of their original lead singer, Alice Glass, in 2015, with musician Edith Frances stepping up to the mic in Glass’ place.

Last month, Crystal Castles released the track “Femen,” followed by “Concrete” last week. Now Frances and founding member Ethan Kath have dropped yet another dreamy track as well as album info.

Just announced, Crystal Castles are set to drop AMNESTY (I), their fourth studio album and first without Glass, on August 9.

In addition to the album title, here’s “Char,” a third taste of the new record. It’s a hard-hitting track with razor edged beats that build under France’s lullaby vocals until the entire song eventually fades out.

In addition to the three songs already released, AMNESTY (I) will include “Fleece,” “Enth,” “Sadist,” “Teach Her How to Hunt,” “Chloroform,” “Frail,” “Ornament,” “Kept” and “Their Kindness Is Charade.”

The band are set to kick off their worldwide tour this week, with three Canadian dates, including Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver.
