To be the 6ix God means putting your mark on the city and for Drake, that means opening a new OVO Store in one of Toronto’s biggest malls. Just announced yesterday, Drake is opening his latest OVO Store on Saturday, a 1,600 square foot retail space inside the upscale Yorkdale Mall.
Drake premiered his new video announcement yesterday, which featured the Toronto native and members of his crew driving up to Toronto’s Yorkdale mall before taking their Escalade SUV for a spin inside. Drizzy and co. spend most of the video slowly cruising by stores like Tiffany’s, Hugo Boss and Chanel while Drake performs his song “Gyalchester.”
Drake’s OVO Flagship Store at Yorkdale Mall is set to open on Saturday, August 5, and although there is no news on what specific merch the store will carry, reports are saying that customers can expect luxury apparel and a capsule collection.
We’re pretty sure the store opening will not include Drake and his crew driving through the halls looking for a Booster Juice or Kernels, but you never know with Drizzy. The rapper is in the 6ix this weekend for his annual OVO Festival.
For those planning on visiting the new OVO Store at Yorkdale on Saturday, we suggest getting there early. Previous flagship stores for the brand have included hour-long waits. Drake’s first store opened on Dundas Street West in Toronto, with two more located in New York and Los Angeles.
If Drake’s new ad for his OVO Store isn’t quite your speed of a pro-Canada mall video, we recommend Robin Sparkle’s “Let’s Go To The Mall.”
