Dua Lipa is the queen of covers. Arctic Monkeys, Amy Winehouse, Etta James—the 22-year-old can really make a song her own.
Now the English singer has taken on the musical work of her peer and friend, Australian pop singer Troye Sivan. The English artist surprised fans during a concert in Paris, France this past Wednesday with a cover of Sivan’s pop anthem “My My My!“
During the special Deezer Session and dressed in crystals and feathers, the “New Rules” singer’s powerful yet soothing vocals combined with the harmonizing of her backup singers, turns Sivan’s pop track into a magical, stripped down performance. Check out the cover below.
The cover comes as no surprise as the two pop up-and-comers have been friends for quite some time now, as Lipa was the opening act for much of Sivan’s Suburbia Tour in 2016. Sivan shared his love for her acoustic version of his lead single on Twitter. Pop stars supporting other pop stars is our new aesthetic.

“My My My!” is one of four tracks released from Sivan’s forthcoming sophomore album Bloom, which is due out August 31.
Most recently, Lipa’s own music was given the cover treatment. At BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge, pop-punk icons Panic! At the Disco covered her “IDGAF,” which saw Lipa’s edgy pop vibe swapped out for the band’s distinct, velvety sound.
Lipa performed her last full show for a while this past Tuesday with multiple festival appearances scheduled in Europe and North America for the next two months before she joins Bruno Mars’ as the show’s opening act for September.
