Ed Sheeran Reveals Why He Skipped His Video For ‘Sing’

Being one of the biggest pop stars in the world is a lot of things; exciting, fulfilling, thrilling and let’s not forget, really, really tiring. When Ed Sheeran released the first single from 2014’s X with the poppy Sing, fans couldn’t wait to see their favourite ginger guitar player in a music video. And they did. Kinda.

Sheeran opted to sit out for most of the first video, instead throwing his acting role over to a puppet. We caught up with Sheeran to find out why and the answer, in true Sheeran form, is straightforward. He didn’t want to be in a video. Same for Don’t. Well, that was easy.

Thankfully, Sheeran decided to take on a starring role in his video for Thinking Out Loud, which earned him a nomination at last year’s Brit Awards for British Video of the Year and British Single of the Year.

Sheeran has two nominations to his name for tomorrow’s show, including a nod for British Video of the Year for Photograph and British Single of the Year for his collaboration with Rudimental on Bloodstream, both from his album X.
