Ed Sheeran is expanding his resume to include ‘live television actor’. The 2015 MMVA co-host showed off his thespian side on last night’s live episode of the NBC sitcom Undateable.

Ed played himself on the show, which made history by performing a two live tapings of episode, both for the East and West coast. Sheeran kicked off the episode by performing for an open mic night at a bar and quickly being insulted by Brent Morin, who plays Justin on the series.

The night was filled with guest stars from Undateable Executive Producer Bill Lawrence’s series Scrubs, including Zach Braff, Donald Faison, Neil Flynn, Scott Foley and Christa Miller. Minnie Driver, Dr. Drew and Victoria Justice also guest starred, with many of the famous names landing slaps and punches on Morin on behalf of Sheeran.

During the second live taping, Sheeran and Undateable’s Brent Morin took their ‘make up’ hug a little further, with the two men surprising the live studio audience with a kiss.

Can we expect more live television surprises from Sheeran when he co-hosts the 2015 MMVAs? You’ll have to tune in on Sunday, June 21 to find out!
