It was exactly one year ago that our beloved UK crooner Ed Sheeran signed off on social media. The well-deserved hiatus made sense, following the release of his album X and subsequent worldwide tour.
Since then, Sheeran has been relatively radio silent, sporadically popping up at public events and recently earning himself a noble facial scar.
Sheeran noted in his goodbye message that his third album would be arriving in the fall and would be the ‘best thing’ he’s made thus far, which is quite the declaration for the two-time Grammy winner. Fall has come and gone and winter has indeed arrived, and we’ve yet to hear any new music from Sheeran. Thankfully, this could soon change.
The 2015 iHeartRadio MMVA host signed back onto his Instagram account today and posted a teal box, also changing his profile picture to the same colour. Sheeran has gone blue on his Twitter account as well, though he’s offered no explanation as to what the new hue means.
A fan of colour schemes, it’s worth noting that Sheeran’s debut album looked like this…
And his second album looked like this…
Which means there’s a very good chance his third album could look like this.
Sorry, we meant this.
Or, his cat stepped on his phone and changed all his accounts to blue. But we’re still hoping for a new album.
