The Global Citizen Festival took place in New York’s Central Park this weekend and brought out the biggest names in music, movies, TV, activism and politics to help raise awareness and money for global development.
Over 60,000 people gathered in the famous park to witness performances from Ed Sheeran, Pearl Jam, Beyonce and more. Hugh Jackman and Stephen Colbert acted as the festival’s MCs. Leonardo DiCaprio gave a speech about climate change and already made the world a better looking place by shaving. Chris Martin and Coldplay sang a duet with Ariana Grande at the suggestion of Martin’s daughter. Beyonce and Eddie Vedder hit the stage together because they can literally really do whatever they want.
A lot of amazing stuff went down at this year’s Global Citizen Festival and, no surprise, we are having some serious FOMO.
Zach Braff and Jesse Pinkman got high off music (not meth).
Laverne Cox and Salma Hayek hung out and we assume they shared make up tips on looking #flawless.
Ed Sheeran and Chris Martin casually hung out onstage.
And then George Stroumboulopoulos casually hung out backstage with Martin.
Olivia Wilde has a really impressive BAE.
Sophia Bush reminded her Instagram followers to get involved.
