A$AP Ferg has become one of the most hyped hip-hop new kids in the past couple of years. As part of A$AP Mob with A$AP Rocky et al, Ferg has become a force to get taken away by. Plus, we can’t be the only people who have the name “Shabba Ranks” repeating over and over in our heads.
When he came through Toronto on tour recently, he revealed how he plans to take his career to the next level. Can we speculate that he has been reading some Deepak Chopra?
“I talk things into fruition. I said ‘One day I’ll do the [Madison Square] Garden,’ and I wound up doing the [Madison Square] Garden on New Years so I like to make things exist by speaking them out loud. That’s the first way, that’s the start to it,” he said.
But it isn’t all about him. Ferg said he makes music to help guide his audience.
“The whole reason I’m making music is to heal you or make sure you see where I’m coming from with something. I don’t want to misguide you. I want you to really get the point,” he said. “It’s kind of wack when people get the lyrics wrong or when they’re just not listening and they just like the beat or something because I’m really trying to get a point across.”
