Here’s The First Look At Christina Aguilera In New Movie ‘Zoe’

Christina Aguilera is back and taking 2018 by storm.

After taking turns on the judging panel of The Voice and RuPaul’s Drag Race, Aguilera returned to the spotlight with a no-makeup cover for Paper Magazine’s April issue. Now, the songstress is planning a return to the big screen with scifi flick Zoe.

Decked in black hair, a tiny hat, and glittery eyelids, Entertainment Weekly has given fans the first look of Aguilera in the film. Check it out below.

Zoe is a futuristic scifi film starring Ewan McGregor and Léa Seydoux that follows the forbidden romance of a robot named Zoe (Seydoux) and her divorced coworker Cole (McGregor) at a revolutionary facility that works to perfect a high-tech system that pairs humans with their perfect match. Aguilera has a small role in the film as robotic sex worker Jewels who works in an underground brothel. Zoe is directed by Drake Doremus (Equals) and also stars Theo James, Rashida Jones, Matthew Gray Gubler, and Miranda Otto.

This movie marks Aguilera’s first big-screen acting role since staring as one of the leads alongside music icon Cher in the 2010 musical Burlesque. She also appeared on three episodes of the TV drama Nashville in 2015 and later lent her voice to the 2017 animated flick The Emoji Movie. The singer, who’s rumoured to be dropping a new album later this year, is also set to make a cameo as herself in the Melissa McCarthy comedy Life of the Party, due out May 11.

Acting as a chameleon throughout her career, transitioning from the bubble gum pop days of The Mickey Mouse Club to her emergence as a solo pop star in 1997 and taking over movie theatres with Burlesque, Xtina can do it all so it comes with no surprise that she’s getting back into acting.

No domestic premiere date has been announced yet for Zoe, but the film will make its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival this Saturday (April 28).
