G-Eazy And Kehlani Reunite For New Single ‘Good Life’

If there’s one thing the Fast and the Furious franchise knows how to do, it’s create one blockbuster hit after another featuring fast cars and a hot group of actors. If there’s two things, it’s combine these car-loving films with exciting soundtracks.

The Fast and the Furious franchise had a huge success with 2015’s Furious 7 soundtrack, the final film in the series to feature actor Paul Walker. Charlie Puth and Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again,” which was written in response to Walker’s death and featured at the end of the film, spent an incredible 12 weeks at the top of the Billboard Charts.

With The Fate of the Furious set to hit theatres on April 14, new music from the upcoming eighth film has begun hitting the airwaves—and the hits keep on coming.

This week’s latest release is courtesy of G-Eazy and Kehlani, who drop the feel good single of the summer with the aptly titled “Good Life.” The video shows the two artists hanging out at a party surrounded by cars, dancing in a parking garage surrounded by cars and standing in the middle of an LA street as cars circle them. So yeah, it’s pretty on brand.

Scenes from the upcoming Fate of the Furious are spliced throughout the video, with the focus squarely set on the happier times in the film and not the storyline that features Dom (Vin Diesel) ditching his crew family for Charlize Theron. We’re still not really sure how that’s going to play out.

“Good Life” is the second impressive single from The Fate of the Furious album to be released. Earlier this month, Camlia Cabello, Pitbull and J. Balvin dropped the Spanish-version of their single “Hey Ma,” shooting a music video in Miami’s South Beach to mirror the film’s Cuban footage. The English version of “Hey Ma” is expected to be released on April 14, the same day The Fate of the Furious speeds into theatres.

“Good Life” isn’t the first time G-Eazy and Kehlani have teamed up together on a track. In 2015, Kehlani hit the studio with G-Eazy for the autobiographical “Everything Will Be Okay” off his third album, When It’s Dark Out. Displaying the range of the two artists in comparison with the upbeat “Good Life,” “Everything Will Be Okay” is an emotional track that has the Cali rapper chronicling his childhood, including the separation of his parents, his mother’s coming out and the death of her partner.
