Governors Ball Music Festival returns to Randall’s Island Park in New York City in June, and the lineup features heavy-hitters including Tool, Chance The Rapper, Phoenix, Childish Gambino, Lorde and Wu Tang Clan.
This will be Tool’s first NYC performance in twelve years, and fans are hopeful the gig will coincide with the release of their highly anticipated new album—their first since 2006’s 10,000 Days. It will also be Phoenix’s first U.S show since 2014 when the French rock group were touring in support of their 2013 album Bankrupt!
Fans will be treated to a rare 2017 Childish Gambino performance, considering Donald Glover will be busy acting this year as part of the upcoming Han Solo prequel and second season of his television series Atlanta.
Canadian fans will also have the chance to check out some homegrown talent. R&B duo Majid Jordan, who are signed to Drake’s label OVO Sound, will be appearing at the festival as well as folk rockers The Strumbellas, indie favourite Mac DeMarco and singer-songwriter Jessie Reyez. Plus one of our favourite songstresses here at Much, Dua Lipa, will be performing.
