Hailee Steinfeld is fresh off her time on the road opening for Meghan Trainor and it looks like the singer isn’t taking any down time. Steinfeld just dropped her latest single, “Starving”, which features production from Grey and Zedd.
The slick new video is comprised of Steinfeld showing off her best covergirl poses while dancing solo in front of a matching black and white leopard print backdrop and later in a factory surrounded by male dancers.
German DJ Zedd doesn’t appear in the new video, but LA artists Grey do pop up for a quick scene as more men brought in to admire Steinfeld.
“Starving” surfaced online a few months ago, but with a new video it could finally start to gain some traction on radio. The upbeat lovesick track is and much more low-key than the stadium anthems we’re used to hearing from Zedd and Steinfeld with her earlier tracks “Love Myself” and “Rock Bottom,” but “Starving” shows a maturity in writing and musicality for both artists.
Of course, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen Steinfeld’s team effort pay off in a bubbly pop track. The Academy Award nominated actor dropped her single “Rock Bottom” with DNCE earlier this year and performed the song with Shawn Hook at the 2016 iHeartRadio MMVAs this past June.
Steinfeld also his the stage this past weekend, performing at the iHeartRadio Music Festival (check out the best moments here) with her “Starving” co-writer Zedd.
The 2016 iHeartRadio Music Festival will be airing in Canada on CTV Two, and here’s when you can watch it! Night One: Thursday, Oct. 6, from 8:00pm to 10:00pm ET. Night Two: Friday, Oct. 7, from 8:00pm to 10:00pm ET.
