Broad City’s Hannibal Buress may play the rom-com loving, Sex and The City watching Lincoln on the hit Much series, but in his new role as Cupid, he’s about as anti-love as it comes.
Starring in BJ The Chicago Kid and Kendrick Lamar’s video for The New Cupid, Buress pees in lemonade, feeds couples dog food, and knocks toys out of kids’ hands all in the name of keeping people out of love.
Directed by Matt Barnes, who has also worked with Canadian rockers The Sheepdogs, the video is shot in an upper middle class neighborhood comprised of residents who can’t catch a break in love thanks to the meddling of a disgruntled cupid.
The new single is part of BJ The Chicago Kid’s debut album In My Mind, which was released this past February. In addition to a verse from Grammy winner Kendrick Lamar, the new single also includes beats from Tony! Toni! Toné!’s Raphael Saadiq.
