Hedley is officially back. The band has just premiered their latest video for “Love Again” today and have announced their upcoming seventh studio album. Starting today, fans can begin pre-ordering Cageless, which will be released in full on September 29.
The band released their lead single “Love Again” in June, playing with EDM and R&B, and have now the group has dropped a new video for the pop track. The video focuses on lead singer Hoggard performing in the streets while a small robot searches the city for a place where he can dance without being pushed into the shadows.
In addition to a traditional video, Hedley has also released a special 360 version of the “Love Again” in partnership with Samsung.
Recorded at Bryan Adams’ Warehouse Studio in BC, Cageless was produced by Hoggard along with frequent Hedley collaborators Brian Howes, and Jason ‘JVP’ VanPoederooyenat. The new album is Hedley’s first since 2015’s platinum-selling Hello, which included the title track as well as the hits “Can’t Slow Down” and “Lose Control.”
Cageless marks the first Hedley disc that will feature the bands’ new lineup, including drummer Jay Beni.
In addition to the lead single “Love Again,” Hedley have also released a clip of their time in the studio, which shows the band and their producers listening to a song that was at one point in the ‘cut’ pile. We’re glad they hung onto it.
