In the sticky, warm, (almost) middle of August heat, Megan Thee Stallion has arrived with the official track of 2019’s Hot Girl Summer.
The phrase that’s in everyone’s Instagram captions and repurposed in tons of tweets, “Hot Girl Summer” has come to define the collective energy of summer 2019. Coined by health administration student-turned-hit maker, there’s finally a track to back the sky-high confidence that calling yourself a “hot girl” provides.
Featuring Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign, “Hot Girl Summer” is another upbeat banger from the Houston Hottie. The song also fittingly samples the City Girls’ “Act Up.” It’s easy to imagine that this song will still be in our heads next summer, and we aren’t complaining.

Thee Stallion has had quite the Hot Girl Summer herself, with her singles “Big Ole Freak” and “Cash Shit” charting, as well as being featured on Chance The Rapper’s new album, The Big Day. Just this past week, she performed at OVO Fest, and Lizzo played the flute just for her in one of the best Twitter videos we’ve seen in a while.

The Nicki feature on the new track comes after the two rappers recently went on Instagram live and shared their love for each other, as well as some advice. We’re so here for female rappers taking over and lifting each other up in the process.
With the release of this banger, we get one last hurrah for Hot Girl Summer before it becomes Too Hot For Pants But Too Cold For Shorts Fall. All we know is that if Thee Stallion could get everyone feeling like hot girls for these past three months (which included a Mercury retrograde spell), we’d love for her to guide us through every season. Regardless, she’s set to tour with Future and Meek Mill, and has been spotted in the studio with Lizzo and SZA.
