If you’re like the rest of us and can’t get enough of Broad City, then you’re in luck. Broad City co-creator Ilana Glazer is releasing a three-part series titled The Time Traveling Bong and it’s exactly what you think it is.
Thanks to the magical power of one time machine bong, Glazer will travel throughout history, which will include meeting Michael Jackson and checking out the Salem Witch Trials. Dope, dope, dope.
The new series, which premieres appropriately on Wednesday, April 20 at 10:30E/7:30P following Broad City, will feature Glazer going solo without writing partner Abbi Jacobson. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Jacobson says “As writers and performers, our voice together as a ‘duo’ is very different than when we’re acting or writing individually. Our individual voices make our collective one, but we have different things we want to explore more.”
Glazer’s exploration into the past first took place in 2012, when she shot a skit for College Humor along with Broad City actor, producer, and writer, Paul W. Downs. The new series will again star Glazer and Downs as they travel through time, one puff at a time. Think Drunk History, but with a more natural element.
