If it feels like Imagine Dragons are everywhere, it’s probably because they are. From a seemingly never-ending tour schedule, to their songs featured on ads and movie trailers, to hanging out with the Muppets, the rock group show no indication of quietly slowing down, and that’s just how we like it.
Before the Las Vegas foursome were internationally known for rocking the MMVAs and playing sold-out arenas, they were a couple of guys with big dreams. More specifically, lead singer Dan Reynolds was a kid whose parents loved shooting home videos.
The band’s latest video, Roots, flips back and forth between home footage of Reynolds and clips of the frontman exploring the New Zealand countryside. Although the band just released their second album Smoke + Mirrors in February, the new song isn’t a part of the record.
Roots was performed for the first time earlier this month during the band’s September 2 tour date in Melbourne, Australia. Could this mean a new Imagine Dragon’s album in the near future? Having already released four successful singles from Smoke + Mirrors, we feel pretty safe getting our hopes up.
