Last year was the year of Chris Pratt. Or maybe Chris Hemsworth depending on who you ask. The sexy pair of Chris’ dominated the screens and magazine covers in 2014. Pratt had two huge movies in 2014, The Lego Movie and Guardians of the Galaxy and was one of GQ’s Men of the Year. Hemsworth was People magazine’s 2014 Sexiest Man Alive. But this year we are calling it the year of Chris Evans. Why? Well, for an admittedly short list of reasons. It is more of a gut thing.
But there was one major catalyst for us to start considering Chris Evans as the Chris Czar. Last night, Betty White won the People’s Choice Award for Favourite TV Icon. The gorgeous, whip smart 93-year-old needed, understandably, a little help getting up the stairs. And which superhero stud was there to lend an arm? Chris Evans himself. What a gentleman. So sharp too!

Adorable right? Is your heart a flutter? Are you imagining yourself as a 93-year-old woman walking arm in arm with your grandson who just happens to look exactly like your husband, his grandfather, Chris Evans? Is that weird? He is rumoured to be dating Sandra Bullock who is BFF’s with Betty White. So if we can’t have him, we do like to imagine the three of them all hanging out.
Evans also was a winner at the People’s Choice Awards last night. He won Favourite Action Movie Star for his role in Snowpiercer (JK it was definitely because of Captain America).
“But, come on? This small act of chivalry doesn’t mean that he is going to dominate 2015,” you say. We hear you. So what else? He has three movies set to come out. Playing It Cool, a “Friend Zone” rom-coms co-starring Luke Wilson, Aubrey Plaza and Michelle Monaghan is expected to be released in 2015. Avengers: Age of Ultron will reunite Captain America with his fellow Avengers this year.
Evans also stars in his directorial debut and TIFF fave, Before We Go. Plus, he is a big supporter of LGBT rights and practices Buddhism. So there you go.
Chris Evans for Chris of 2015!
