In July of ‘85, the buzz around the upcoming Live Aid concerts in Philadelphia and London was huge. On the eve of the concert in London, MuchMusic VJ Christopher Ward was granted a surprise interview with Bob Geldof, on a balcony at the Polygram building where he was whipping up support for the concerts. Before calling MuchMusic’s John Martin on the phone, Geldof laid out his manifesto for fund raising.
In 1984, Christopher Ward helped launch Muchmusic as Canada's first VJ. A former Second City Touring Company member and acclaimed songwriter, Ward has written for Diana Ross, Hilary Duff, The Backstreet Boys and many others. Ward received the 1990 Songwriter of the Year JUNO Award for Alannah Myles’ hit, "Black Velvet".
