When Iggy Pop came to MuchMusic, he was told by producer and VJ Simon Evans that he had two hours to do whatever he wanted. It included performances, an interview and questions from fans in the studio, on the phone and in the street. At one point, Iggy decided he wanted to get closer to the crowd on Queen Street and climbed through the window to meet and perform for the people.
In 1984, Christopher Ward helped launch Muchmusic as Canada's first VJ. A former Second City Touring Company member and acclaimed songwriter, Ward has written for Diana Ross, Hilary Duff, The Backstreet Boys and many others. Ward received the 1990 Songwriter of the Year JUNO Award for Alannah Myles’ hit, "Black Velvet".
