Jimmy Fallon Reveals The Gross Story Behind His Finger Injury

Tue, July, 14 by

For the past two weeks, The Tonight Show was on hold due to a finger injury host Jimmy Fallon sustained. While that may sound like a minor accident, Fallon finally returned last night to tell his story, and we must warn you, it’s actually really gross. Like prepare to say, “EW!” (and not in this way).

Fallon’s story starts off innocently enough: “I tripped and fell in my kitchen on a braided rug that my wife loves and I can’t wait to burn it to the ground. I tripped and fell and I caught my fall and so I’m getting up and my finger is sideways.”

It gets worse. Turns out Fallon had something called ring avulsion, which meant that his wedding ring got caught and pulled his finger out. O-U-C-H. Google at your own risk.

As a result, Fallon had to get microsurgery done on his finger, which involved removing a vein from his foot and inserting it into his finger. Again, OUCH.

We’re super glad to see Fallon return, though. We’ve missed you, Jimmy! Watch the full story below and jump below that to see Fallon get back into the swing of things by playing a new game called Drinko with Ant-Man star, Paul Rudd!
