This past June, Toronto band July Talk made their debut on the iHeartRadio MMVA stage and showed why they’re one of the country’s best kept secrets. The indie rockers incorporated dance, stage theatrics, and badass, yes, badass rainbow face paint for their high energy performance of “Push + Pull.”
The track acted as the lead single from the band’s sophomore album Touch. The new album finally dropped earlier this month and now the band has gifted us with another round of stunning visuals, this time for their new single “Beck + Call.”
Shot in the band’s trademark black and white visuals, lead singers Peter Dreimanis and Leah Fay battle vocally and physically, sending one another soaring through an empty warehouse with the thrust of an arm. The contemporary dance routine is beautifully executed with strength and power by the duo, who use their telekinetic senses to dismantle one another.
In addition to Dreimanis and Fay, “Beck + Call” also features vocals from Canadian throat singer Tanya Tagaq, whose contribution adds to the build of the throbbing base line, with the final few notes of the song erupting into a frantic avalanche of sound.
Check out July Talk’s hard hitting video, literally and figuratively, for “Beck + Call.”
