The JUNO Awards descended on Calgary this weekend and after a number of events, including the JUNO Gala and JUNO Fan Fare, the big show finally arrived this evening. Calgary’s Saddledome was the place to be, with the red carpet featuring some of the biggest names in Canadian music.
Walk Off The Earth, Cancer Bats, Three Days Grace, Marianas Trench and Young Empires were just some of the groups keeping one another company on tonight’s red carpet. Performers Shawn Mendes, Scott Helman and Shawn Hook all posed for pics, with presenters Jus Reign and Kardinal Offishal also putting in some face time with the enthusiastic crowd.
One of the biggest surprises of the night was the appearance of Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger and wife Avril Lavigne, who announced their separation in 2015. Lavigne has been posting pics of the two in the recording studio on her Instagram page and judging by their smiles tonight on the red carpet, we’re hoping the two musicians are back on.
