Kanye West Comes For Nike, Bill Cosby In New Track ‘Facts’

It was exactly one year ago today that Kanye West dropped his surprise soft pop collaboration with Paul McCartney and Rihanna on FourFiveSeconds. The borderline Adult Contemporary single showed the softer side of Kanye, who rapped about optimism and kindness.

If 2015 was about West getting in touch with his emotions, then 2016 is all about West returning to his outspoken, diss-loving tracks.

The musician dropped a surprise song early this morning with Facts on Soundcloud. Focusing his rapid-fire critiques mainly on Nike, who famously passed on working with Kanye, West raps that the athletic company would be nothing without their partnerships with Drake and LeBron James.

Facts must have been written recently, with West referencing the success of his latest Yeezy shoe, wife Kim Kardashian-West’s new Emoji release, and last week’s Miss Universe guffaw thanks to Steve Harvey’s incorrect winner announcement. West lightly touches on Bill Cosby, asking if anyone feels sorry for the fallen comedian. We’re going to go with ‘no’ on that one.

It’s difficult to say whether Facts is an indication that West is gearing up to release his rumoured next album SWISH, a follow-up to 2013’s Yeezus. What is clear is that West is still holding onto that Nike grudge.
