You’d think Kaytranada doesn’t sleep. In an interview with Zane Lowe, he announced that he’s working on a mixtape titled, 0.01%, following the release of his long-awaited debut album, 99.9%, that dropped just last month.
Kaytranada gave a preview of what this new mixtape is about, premiering a remix of Rihanna’s “Kiss It Better,” one of the breakthrough songs on ANTI.
“I really wanted to remix it and had this whole idea,” he explains after playing the song for Lowe. “It’s hard to explain how it works. I just think about it, then boom.”
His remix trades the darker, guitar-driven music for a head-bobbing house beat perfect for blasting in your car with the windows down this summer.
To tease us even more, Kaytranada put a few snippets of new 0.01% material on Instagram.
From France to New Zealand, Kaytranada is embarking on a 28-date tour and festival circuit with dates in Canada, the U.S., Europe and Australia. You can find the full list here.
