Kendrick Lamar is a man on the go. With live performances, an upcoming album and now a collaboration with Reebok Classic he is making every minute count. Kendrick says that his look is sophisticated with and edge which is what Reebok carries.
While Liz was in New York, enjoying the city and chatting with the West Coast rapper, Kendrick shared his love for Canada and Toronto.
“There’s some talented people out there. You have a very very talented city. Drake doing his thing. Boi-1da. I’d go back to Kardinal Offishall. You know I’m not just talking,” he said. “There’s a cat by the name of Rich Kidd, he produces and raps. It is just a great ball of talent out there. Along with beautiful women.”
One beautiful Canadian he has gotten to know recently is Chantal Kreviazuk who co-wrote and appears on his new song “Pay For It”.
“I was introduced to her by my producer Soundwave who has been working with her and he told me about her. He didn’t even tell me that she was a big deal,” he said. “He just told me that she is a great vocalist, a great writer, a great musician. I heard her and I said, ‘You’re right.’ It wasn’t really about the name, it was about the art.”
