Kevin Hart is taking his cheating scandal head on.
The 38-year-old comedian stars in the new music video for J. Cole’s “Kevin’s Heart,” which gets its name from the Jumanji actor and is inspired by Hart’s highly publicized infidelity.
As the song tells the tale of fighting off the urge to cheat, the cinéma vérité style music video follows the Philadelphia native—and long-time buddy of J. Cole—going about his daily routine from the grocery store to shopping for a stroller to simply driving his car as he fends off judgmental bystanders and tempting flirts in the aftermath of his adulterous actions. While the content of the video stemmed from a serious occurrence, Hart still manages to lighten the mood with comedic quips throughout the video.
In an emotional Instagram video, Hart admitted he’d made a mistake having been unfaithful to his then eight-month pregnant wife Eniko Parrish back in September 2017.
“At the end of the day man, I just simply have got to do better,” said Hart in the social media post. The very end of the music video mirrors Hart’s tearful sentiment as clouds form the words “choose wisely.” It appears he has since repaired his relationship with wife Parrish as the couple welcomed their first child together late last year.
“Kevin’s Hart” is the latest visual from J. Cole’s new album KOD, which dropped on April 20 and is on track to become the fastest selling album of 2018 so far, stealing the spot from Justin Timberlake’s Man of the Woods.
