Lady Gaga’s incredible performance at the 51st Super Bowl Halftime Show has already grabbed the title of the most-watched halftime performance ever—and for good reason. Mother Monster defied heights and combined her incredible catalogue of pop hits with a strong social message during her 13-minute performance, which featured songs like “Bad Romance,” “Born This Way,” and “Poker Face.”
Playing the Halftime Show for any artist takes months of preparation and for Lady Gaga, that meant being involved in every detail from the choreography to the costumes. Gaga and her group of dancers, as well as hundreds of extras, nailed the performance, earning praise from longtime little monsters and viewers that became fans thanks to the Super Bowl.
Now Gaga has shared a behind the scenes look at her Halftime show, including dance rehearsals and the making of costumes for the performance. No big surprise, it looks like a ton of work.
Following Gaga’s Halftime Show, the singer announced her upcoming Joanne World Tour, which is set to kick off on August 11 in Vancouver. Gaga also surprised fans by dropping a new video for her single “John Wayne,” teaming up with her “Paparazzi” and “Telephone” director Jonas Akerland.
Only a few days later, Gaga was again performing live, this time with Metallica during the Grammy Awards. Not surprisingly, Superhero Gaga saved the day.
