Lady Gaga To Replace Beyoncé As Coachella Headliner

When Beyoncé announced last week that she would be pulling out of her headlining spot for this year’s Coachella because of her pregnancy, the Beyhive was understandably bummed. Thankfully, ticket holders now have a new headliner to get excited about.

Just announced last night, Lady Gaga will be taking Beyoncé’s place at the two-weekend music fest, filling in her for “Telephone” duet partner. The slay torch has officially been passed.

The pop star will make her Coachella debut with fellow headliners Radiohead and Kendrick Lamar for the festival, which is set to take place between April 14 – 23 in Indio, California. In addition to the three main acts, this year’s Coachella Music and Arts Festival will also feature Lorde, the xx, Travis Scott, Father John Misty and many more.

A number of Canadian acts, including Majid Jordan, Mac Demarco, Crystal Castles, Tory Lanez, Arkells, and Kaytranada are also featured on the two-weekend bill.

Let’s party in the desert!

Fans quickly began sharing their excitement over Gaga’s addition to Coachella on social media.

Gaga’s addition as a headliner to this year’s Coachella isn’t a big surprise (we called it), considering the superstar has performed on almost every major stage this year already. Mother Monster’s incredible performance at the Super Bowl earned her the record of the most-watched Halftime performance ever. Only a week later, Gaga was back on stage to perform with Metallica at the Grammy Awards.

Gaga is set to kick off her Joanne World Tour on August 1 in Vancouver, making Coachella the perfect venue to run through her new setlist. She’s already essentially given fans a sneak peek of her headlining performance with this desert-loving video. Yassss Gaga.
