Lady Gaga Shares Behind The Scenes Look At Her Super Bowl Rehearsal

Gaga Super Bowl BTS

Lady Gaga is preparing to perform on one of the biggest stages in the world when she headlines the Halftime Show at the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 5. In this new behind-the-scenes clip from sponsor Pepsi, Gaga reveals that it’s a show she’s been looking forward to for a while. “It will be special because I’ve been planning this since I was four,” says Gaga. “I know exactly what I’m going to do.”

When Gaga and her dancers hit the stage in February, they’ll be following in the footsteps of some of the biggest artists in the world who have previously played the Halftime Show, including Bruno Mars, Coldplay, Beyonce, Britney Spears, Janet Jackson, Prince, Justin Timberlake, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Bruno Mars again. Not that we’re complaining.

The new clip features an exclusive sit down with Gaga, who looks relaxed in an NFL tee shirt—a surprisingly understated look for the theatrical performer. But, as Gaga says, her upcoming show is all about the music.

“For me it’s all about giving to the fans and bringing people together that don’t normally come together. The thing is, it’s such a big world stage in terms of how many people see it and it’s been done so many times, I think the challenge is to look at it and say, what can I do differently?” says Gaga. “How can I elevate certain little things here and there and also make it about the music.”

The new clip, which premiered on the Super Bowl’s Twitter page late last night, also includes footage of Gaga’s dancers rehearsing. Fans of Mother Monster may recognize some of the dancers, with choreographer Richy Jackson revealing that he and Gaga tried to choose dancers they had previously worked with and had a hand in helping Gaga get where she is today.

The rehearsal footage shows Jackson and the dancers re-learning the famous choreography to Gaga’s 2009 hit “Bad Romance,” which means fans can get their ‘ra-ra-ra-ra-ra-ras’ ready for February 5.

Although the full list of songs that will make up Gaga’s medley performance has yet to be revealed, we’re sure singles from her 2016 album Joanne will make the cut, alongside old favourites. Maybe “Applause” into “Perfect Illusion”? We definitely would love to hear her high-energy track “A-YO” as well.

Fans will want to tune into the Halftime Show this year not only to see what will surely be a memorable performance from Gaga, but there’s also a good chance the pop singer will be announcing a new tour at the same time.

Don’t miss Lady Gaga when she plays the Super Bowl 51 Halftime Show live from Houston, Texas on Sunday, February 5.
