The return of Lady Gaga just keeps getting better. Two weeks after announcing her forthcoming album Joanne, rumours of Gaga performing at the 2017 Super Bowl have been confirmed—with the NFL and Pepsi announcing tonight that the singer is set to headline the Pepsi Zero Sugar Super Bowl LI Halftime Show next February.
While the February 5, 2017 game will mark her first stint as halftime headliner, Gaga is no stranger to the Super Bowl spotlight—having kicked off this past year’s football championship by delivering the National Anthem.
Recent halftime headliners have included pop and rock powerhouses like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Katy Perry, Beyonce and Coldplay, but we think Gaga’s October 21 release of Joanne will spur a flurry of new hits more than fit for the historically larger-than-life onstage spectacle.
