Lights Announces ‘Skin&Earth Acoustic’ And Drops New Track

Lights is releasing an acoustic version of her 2017 album Skin&Earth this summer featuring sounds of the world around us. The record, which she produced and mixed herself, will be an acoustic rendition of seven of her favourite tracks from her fourth album and it will include three brand new tracks.

Taking to Twitter this morning, the Timmins, Ontario-born artist announced the new record.

Back in 2017, Lights announced the release of her album Skin&Earth as well as a corresponding comic series. The dystopian comics, written and illustrated by Lights herself, were released once a month to go along with the release of a track, all leading to the date of the album release.

In her tweet above, she explains how each acoustic track was recorded in a setting that matched its chapter in the comics.

The album announcement was accompanied by the release of one of the three new tracks, “Lost Girls.” Lights’ husband Beau Bokan directed the video to accompany song, giving fans a glimpse of what to expect from Skin&Earth Acoustic.

This new album will be her first project after signing to label Fueled by Ramen. Lights was previously signed by Warner Bros., the label she had been with since the start of her career.

Lights will be in London, Ontario at London Music Hall July 26, Toronto at Danforth Music Hall July 27, and Vancouver at The Vogue August 16 for her acoustic tour this summer.
