Musician and producer Jack Antonoff has been behind some of the biggest pop songs of the past five years (Taylor Swift, fun., Sara Bareilles, Fifth Harmony, Sia) and now the multi-talented artist is using his connections in the music industry to support a great cause. Antonoff has launched The Ally Coalition, a LGBTQ equality organization that raises awareness and funds for causes related to the LGBTQ community, including helping homeless youth and survivors of assault.
Antonoff’s latest charity event for the organization took place last night in New York City and featured performances from Lorde, Carly Rae Jepsen, Charli XCX and CHRVCHES’ Laura Mayberry.
Jepsen, who worked with Antonoff on her 2012 song “Sweetie,” performed “Run Away With Me” from her 2015 indie darling album Emotions. Jepsen has been in the studio working on her follow up to Emotions, leading us to wonder whether her appearance at last night’s event may also signal that the Canadian pop singer has been recording with Antonoff.

Another person who could be working with The Bleachers’ frontman is Lorde, who has been recording the follow-up to 2013’s hugely successful Pure Heroine. Lorde has been recording in Antonoff’s hometown of NYC and during last night’s event, the two covered Robyn’s “Hang With Me.”
The event marked the third annual Ally Coalition Talent Show, which also featured a number of inspirational song choices, including Mayberry covering Katy Perry’s “Firework,” Charli XCX performing her breakout hit “Boom Clap” with Antonoff and a group performance of Fleetwood Mac’s “Go Your Own Way.”
