The line up for the 2017 Osheaga Music and Arts Festival has been announced and The Weeknd, Lorde and Muse are set to headline.
Osheaga marks the first festival performance of the year for The Weeknd, who will spend much of the spring and summer on his Starboy World Tour. As for Lorde, the singer is preparing to make her musical comeback this month and is already scheduled to play SNL on March 11 and Coachella in April.
The annual three day event will take place between August 4 – 6 in Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal and feature one of the most impressive festival line ups of the year.
Major Lazer, Alabama Shakes, Solange, Cage The Elephant, Justice, Vance Joy and more will be hitting the Montreal festival to play to thousands of screaming fans. This year’s line up has something for everyone, including indie darlings Angel Olsen and Maggie Rogers, hip hop artists Danny Brown and Run The Jewels, folk singer Father John Misty and pop singer Tove Lo.
In addition to headliner and Toronto native The Weeknd, Canadians will be all over Osheaga this year. Acts like Death From Above 1979, Zeds Dead, Andy Shauf, Broken Social Scene, Majid Jordan, Daniel Caesar, Crystal Castles, Tegan and Sara and Arkells, along with Montreal natives Heat, Snails, Plants and Animals and Le Couleur are just a sample of Canucks who will be representing the true north at Osheaga.
The British are also invading, with Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher, grime artist Sampha, pop singer Zara Larsson, trio London Grammar, folk artist George Ezra, and Best New British Act winner Rag-N-Bone Man all scheduled to play. Swet Shop Boys, fronted by British actor and Star Wars: Rogue One star Riz Ahmed are also scheduled to make their Osheaga debut.
