FYF Fest took over Exposition Park in L.A. this past weekend and, luckily, we’ve got a truckload of social posts to cure the inevitable FOMO. But, we’re especially thankful for the ‘grams that captured the unlikely combo of Mac DeMarco and Nathan Fielder on stage.
Funnyman Nathan Fielder (that’s Nathan For You, in case you didn’t know) “played” alongside Canadian indie rocker DeMarco’s band for a good portion of his set. That included fake tuning and strumming, lighting and extinguishing cigarettes and flipping off the crowd with both hands.
FYF Fest was a surprise guest-heavy weekend, with Blood Orange bringing out a slew of collaborators, including Sky Ferreira (who he wrote “Everything Is Embarrassing” for), Empress Of (who he collab’ed with on “Love Ya”) , Nelly Furtado (who he released “Hardon Collider” with) and Carly Rae Jepsen (who appears on “Best To You”).
Australian rockers Tame Impala brought out Lady Gaga during the tail end of their set to sing along to “New Person, Same Mistakes.” Back in May, Gaga teased a collaboration with frontman Kevin Parker on a song titled “Perfect Illusion,” off her upcoming September album.
