Madonna Plays Surprise Street Show To Honor Paris’ Terrorism Victims


While on her Rebel Heart tour stop in Paris last night, Madonna visited th Place De La Republique where a memorial for the Paris attacks and performed a surprise street show.

“We just want to sing a few songs about peace, just to spread love and joy, and to pay our honor and respect to the people who died almost four weeks ago,” she said, as reported by The Guardian, “and to spread light — we all need it.”

Accompanied by her son 10-year-old son David and guiarist, she performed Ghosttown and Like A Prayer and covered John Lennon’s Imagine.

At her concert earlier in the evening, she performed the French national antheme La Maresillaise while wrapped in the country’s flag.

“We will not bend down to fear!” she told the audience, “I think of what happened almost four weeks ago now. The heart of Paris and the heart of France beats in the heart of each city.”
