Majid Jordan’s debut album may have came out over a year ago, but the Toronto duo show no signs of slowing down, as evidenced by the release of their sixth music video for the single “Small Talk.”
While most of their past videos have centered on story lines starring singer Majid Al Maskati, the “Small Talk” video focuses on the normally camera-shy producer Jordan Ullman.
The MuchFACT-funded video starts when Al Maskati shows up at Ullman’s door, insistent on taking his heartbroken buddy out for a good time. Ullman, hung up on another girl, is reluctant. The two share a conversation (set up as a French subtitled film) and eventually, Al Maskati gets Ullman to join him on a babe-filled joy ride around the city in their drop-top.
The video reaches its apex when the couples find themselves on a rooftop, backdropped by the Toronto skyline. One of the girls that’s been cold-shouldered by the lovesick Ullman pulls a gun on him, which we quickly find out is fake. Turns out, getting soaked in the face with a water gun is exactly the wake up call Ullman needs to get over his former flame and start living in the moment.
After playing a sold-out North American tour earlier this year, the duo are ready to get back on the road again, kicking off their NA II tour starting September in Montreal, and ending the tour with back-to-back shows right here in Toronto. You can find a full list of tour dates here.
