The legendary ’80s track True Colors by pop queen Cyndi Lauper has gotten the Marina and the Diamonds treatment.
Marina Diamandis, Wales-born singer better known by her stage name Marina and the Diamonds, stripped down the song to a simple piano arrangement and somber vocals. Delivering a emotional performance, she shows off her stunning vocal skills that has garnered praise from Lauper herself, who shared the post on her Facebook page yesterday and tagged Marina as well.
This isn’t the first pop track Marina’s transformed—remember when she reworked Justin Bieber’s Boyfriend into a lovesick ballad for the BBC? We do.
True Colors was originally supposed appear on the reissue of re-package of her third studio album, Froot, which came out last year. The repackage has since been cancelled.
