Much Creator Dan Talevski Drops New Album ‘High Times’

Dan Talevski

Much Creator Dan Talevski has just dropped his debut EP High Times—creating a body of work that represents one of the most exciting pop stars on the rise.

A decade in the making, High Times is comprised of high energy bops like “Birthday Suit” and slower, emotional tracks like “Religion.” The new album also features Talevski’s recent collaboration with Toronto artist Aleesia on the duet “Papers.”

Celebrating the album release on October 27, Talevski, who was first discovered after posting a Justin Timberlake cover in 2007, says that High Times has been a lifelong project. “I’ve dreamt and anticipated my album release day my entire life. It hasn’t been easy. Continuously over the last decade, I’ve had set backs, road blocks, and crushed dreams. Sounds like your typical, cliché chase for stardom, but it feels different when you’re living it.”

The album was initially supposed to be released in 2015, but was pushed back so that Talevski could continue writing for other artists, including Shawn Desman, Danny Fernandes, Keshia Chante and more. “I titled it ‘High Times’ because of obvious reasons *insert marijuana joke* but it’s also symbolic of a time in my life when I felt bigger than the world; living my dreams; addicted to the music industry and pop culture. It’s like no other drug,” writes Talevski.

My debut EP: High Times // October 27 2017 Over the past 10 years, I’ve written and recorded hundreds of songs in the hopes of having my first body of work released into the world. I’ve dreamt and anticipated my album release day my entire life. It hasn’t been easy. Continuously over the last decade, I’ve had set backs, road blocks, and crushed dreams. Sounds like your typical, cliché chase for stardom, but it feels different when you’re living it. I set out to release this EP back in mid-2015, but it wasn’t the right time. Over the course of the past two years, I solidified my track listing (including previous singles… AKA “my babies”) and set a release date: October 27, 2017. I titled it “High Times” because of obvious reasons *insert marijuana joke* but it’s also symbolic of a time in my life when I felt bigger than the world; living my dreams; addicted to the music industry and pop culture. It’s like no other drug. Why no clothes on the cover, you ask? The pose represents how I’m feeling in life right now. I’m tired of portraying the perfectly polished pop artist. This EP is not about that. Strip back the big hair, the thought-out wardrobe, the “sexy smirk” — I want you to focus on my vocals, lyrics, melodies, and production. I hope these seven songs take you on a euphoric journey out of your reality and into mine. Puff, puff, pass… #dantalevski
