NCT 127 Pair Up With Ava Max On New Version Of ‘So Am I’

NCT 127 are back and they’re on a roll.

Coming off the high of their recent North American leg of their Neo City – The Origin tour, the band seems to have connected with Western artists because they just hopped on a new version of Ava Max’s “So Am I.” And it’s a bop.

Released today, the song is a remake of Max’s second single from her upcoming and untitled debut album, an encouraging song about self-acceptance. This new version features NCT 127 rappers, Taeyong and Mark, who take over the second verse, rapping in both Korean and English. The boys add their typical swagger and flow to the track, taking it to another level. There’s also a new depth to the song thanks to Jaehyun’s vocal layering over Max’s in the chorus. To put it simply, we love it and we love them.

The collab with NCT 127 was announced only yesterday, following a string of Ava Max randomly tweeting about the band. She even posted a video on Twitter jamming to 127’s “Superhuman” in the car, which to be honest, we’re guilty of doing too. So when she tweeted the next day about this surprise single, safe to say fans were pleasantly surprised.

Our favourite 10-member group is currently finishing up their world tour, with only three stops to go. They also just released their fourth EP, We Are Superhuman, this past May, featuring singles “Superhuman” and “Highway to Heaven.”

No updates yet about an accompanying music video for “So Am I,” but we will keep our eyes peeled.
