Nelly Furtado Releases VHS-Style Video For ‘Pipe Dreams’

Tue, December, 20 by Julia White

Nelly Furtado just dropped the video for her new single “Pipe Dreams,” and it’s all kinds of groovy.

The video focuses on Furtado looking pensive and wandering around a home in lo-fi VHS clips. The artistic moodiness of the video is a big change from her pop diva days (who could forget “Promiscuous”), but it’s a refreshing update and definitely something we can jam to.

Pipe Dreams is the first single off next year’s album The Ride, a follow up to 2012’s The Spirit Indestructible. Furtado is working with John Congleton, who has previously produced for St. Vincent, David Byrne and Modest Mouse, so you can expect to hear some alternative pop and rockier vibes from the new record.
