It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for a mid-week pick-me-up. Nothing boosts morale more than hearing (or dancing to) some butt-kicking new music!

Some amazing new tunes have just been released this month by some of our favourite artists, and we have a roundup for you below. So, whether you choose to chill out, rock out, or  even dance around in your undies to these new songs, they’ll be sure to brighten up your mood.

1. Energy By Tinashe (Featuring Juicy J)

giphy (5)

Rising R&B sensation Tinashe has just released a fiery new banger called Energy, featuring Juicy J. Mike Will Made It produced this track too, so you know she’s got a great team on her hands to make this catchy song as good as this one. This collaborative effort was put out in spirit of her upcoming album, Joyride, which will be released sometime next month, following last year’s EP, Amethyst. It’s unknown thus far if Energy will make it onto Joyride or if it’ll just stay as a single. Either way, with Tinashe’s sweet voice and Juicy J’s clever rap verses, this is a song you should definitely check out.

2.  Never Be Like You by Flume (Featuring Kai)

Never Be Like You is a fusion of electronic and R&B goodness by Australian artist, Harley Streten, better known as Flume. He collaborated with Torontonian artist Kai for this track, who did vocals. The song’s vibe is very similar to Justin Timberlake’s Future Sex/Love Sounds era sound. Never Be Like You is the kind of song that you want to listen to when you get home on a Friday after a long day of work, when you’re getting ready for the weekend. Give it a listen because your ears will thank you.

3. New York City by The Chainsmokers (Dash Berlin Audio Remix)

First, there was #Selfie; now, there’s the new remix to The Chainsmokers‘s New York City. Rather than be a wild party anthem, this remixed version of the song is much more relaxed as far as EDM goes. In comparison to the original, the remix is shinier and newer, has more of an ambient sound, and has some cool vocal effects added as well. New York City is the duo’s latest single to be released. Don’t miss out on checking this one out; it’s especially great to listen to while working out.

4. Over And Over Again by Nathan Sykes (Featuring Ariana Grande)

This beautiful ballad is made by a pair of exes, surprisingly. Although Sykes and Grande dated in 2013 and broke up after many months together, clearly they did something right when they got back together (to make this song, that is). “It’s such a special song to me, and I’m delighted that I’m able to share this with not only a friend of mine, but also somebody who is incredibly talented,” Nathan gushed in a statement, referring to Ariana Grande. So slow it down with this track—you won’t regret it.

5. King Of The World by Weezer

You may know rockers, Weezer, for songs like Beverly Hills or Say It Ain’t SoKing Of The World is the band’s third single off their upcoming self-titled studio album to be released April 1 (and that’s no joke). This track has Weezer’s signature alternative rock sound to it, with a hint of playfulness. It’s instantly catchy, especially with the chorus: “If I was king of the world/You’d be my girl/You wouldn’t have to shed one single tear/…/We could ride a Greyhound to the Galapagos/And stay for the rest of our lives.” Also, Weezer has just announced a co-headlining tour with Panic! At The Disco scheduled for this summer. Get familiar with this track so you could belt it out at the show!

Honourable Mention: I’ll Be There by Justin Bieber

This song sounded amazing – until Bieber’s team removed all traces of the leaked song from the Internet! It was an R&B style love song, and the Biebs sounded phenomenal on it. It was silently leaked over the weekend, with a popularity factor blowing up over it yesterday morning. We’d be on board with recommending this song for your mid-week playlist, but it’s as if it were never made.
