For everyone who just couldn’t let go of “Let It Go,” you’ll want to check this one out.
You might’ve confused the teaser trailer Disney released back in February (when the cold definitely still bothered us) for the real thing, but we’re being blessed with a second wave of cool in the form of the Frozen 2 *official* trailer, which dropped today.
The full-length trailer starts out much the same way the teaser did, with Queen Elsa repeatedly braving a dark and scary churning ocean, except this time we get to see what Elsa encounters when she falls below the waves… Hint: if you thought all magical-teenage-girls were into horses, you thought wrong.
There’s obviously some sort of world-destroying evil at play here, and the Frozen gang are being sent north into the unknown by Pabbie the troll to uncover ominous secrets from Elsa’s past. We do get to discover some more of Arendelle’s mountains and forests—at one point there appears to be a rock-like formation in the background similar to Australia’s Uluru natural wonder, and we all #stan a moment of cute sisterly love when Anna declares, “I won’t let anything happen to her.”
However, like any good trailer, this one leaves us with more questions (and a deeper sense of foreboding) than answers. What sort of threats are Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, and Olaf facing? And what are they going to find out about the origin and purpose of Elsa’s powers?
We can only keep refreshing the trailer for now, as Frozen 2 won’t hit cinemas until November 22.
