We’re still over a month away from the Season 6B premiere of Pretty Little Liars on Tuesday, January 12 at 8E/5P on M3, but that doesn’t mean it’s too early to start predicting what’s going to happen when our favourite Liars return to Rosewood after a five year timehop.
In a new poster revealed today, the five Liars are pictured under yellow clouds while standing outside the sign welcoming visitors to their hometown. But what does it mean? Put on your stiffest Spencer-approved blazer and let’s investigate.
Aria has been the only Liar who has retreated into denial with everything the girls have been through, especially with the Dollhouse. We know that Alison wants the girls to help get Charlotte released from jail, a request that Aria looks to be resenting in the new poster. She is also the only person not looking straight ahead, possibly signifying that Aria has stopped looking to the future and wants answers from the past.
Alison’s Solo Spot
Alison continues to be an island on her own in the new poster, which shows her standing at a distance from the other Liars. We can’t blame them. Would you trust Alison after everything?
Emily and Hanna
The only two women touching in the picture are Emily and Hanna, with Hanna slightly blocking Emily. We know that Emily’s father dies during the five year time hop and this body language could show Hanna’s protection over her friend.
While our first inclination was to think that the dirt spilling out of the car was a literal metaphor for a new grave site being dug this season, now we’re not so sure. Spencer is heading into a life of politics and is sitting over the dirt. Could this be a sign that she’s about to spill some dirt and possibly reveal the secrets that have haunted her and the Liars for years?
Okay, okay, we know. The Liars have always dressed years ahead of their time. Now the girls are actually years ahead and that’s being reflected in their heels and fitted dresses, all of which we would love to see hanging in our closets.
The Rosewood Sign
We know the Liars are all returning to Rosewood after the five year time hop, but’s interesting that Alison is obscuring the Population number. Could this signify the time’s population going up with the Liars returning or going down as a result of dead bodies? Also, their position in front of the sign could be a cue that new characters are going to be introduced this season, with the welcome sign acting as the first thing someone would see when entering the town.
