Ex-One Directioner Niall Horan performed solo for the first time on Canadian solo at last night’s iHeart Radio Canada Jingle Ball in Toronto, and while he admits his appearance was short, we’re still marveling at how sweet it was.
“I literally came to Canada for three and a half minutes,” Horan joked following his performance of his smash hit “This Town,” which is his only solo song released as of now.
“I’m afraid that’s all I’ve got for you right now. I promise the next time I come back I’ll have a hell of a lot more songs for you,” he said to piercing screams from the packed house at the Air Canada Centre.
Horan was in fine company for his first solo gig at Toronto’s Jingle Ball, which also included performances from Alessia Cara, The Weeknd, The Chainsmokers, Hedley and more. Horan performed the stripped-down “This Town” center stage with his acoustic guitar, intermittently grinning ear-to-ear at the 20,000 fans hanging off, and singing along with, his every word.
Before leaving the stage and presumably jetting home, Horan assured, “I will see you lovely, beautiful, sexy Canadians very soon”—a sign off that seemed to sit very well with the many weepy girls in the audience.
Just got off stage @iHeartRadioCA in toronto . Sorry it was so short and sweet but I’ll see you again with more tunes. Thank for having me

Horan’s full-length debut album is set to drop sometime in 2017, but until then, we’ll keep “This Town” on repeat.
