There’s sadly been a bit of a Nicki Minaj drought over the past few years, but thankfully, 2017 has so far been packed with new singles and music videos from the rapid fire rapper. Minaj is preparing to drop her follow-up to 2014’s The Pinkprint and has released her latest music video for “Regret In Your Tears.”
Unfortunately, Minaj is a good friend to Jay Z and has so far only released the video on Tidal, because it’s still a thing, which means most of the world can only watch the one-minute free preview.
Shot by fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, Minaj stuns throughout the video, laying next to a majestic looking pond and later in bed with a man who she is saying goodbye too. We’ll call him Meek Mill, for argument’s sake.
“Regret In Your Tears” marks the second video Minaj has dropped from her highly anticipated upcoming fourth studio album. In April, Minaj reunited on screen with her Cash Money crew, including Lil Wayne and Drake, for the London-based music video “No Frauds.”
Minaj has been busy not only putting the finishing touches on her yet-to-be titled album, as well as appearing on a number of other artist’s tracks. Minaj appeared in the video for “Run Up” with Major Lazer and Drake’s OVO signee PartyNextDoor. She’s also released music with Nick Jonas with the single “Bom Bidi Bom” for 50 Shades Darker, as well as Nick’s brother Joe and his band DNCE on the song “Kissing Strangers.”
All these music videos and collaborations thankfully don’t mean that Minaj hasn’t left herself time to socialize. The rapper wowed fans at last night’s Met Gala, looking stunning in her H&M gown.
Minaj shared pics from the A-list event, posing with Gigi Hadid, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Future, Jourdan Dunn and Halle Berry.
