After teasing a snippet of a new song last week, Nicki Minaj has recruited Young Money compatriot Lil Wayne for her latest single.
The racy new song titled “Rich Sex” sees Minaj raps over a dark, minimalist beat with Lil Wayne joining in for the second verse, continuing with the track’s explicit theme. Listen to the new single below.
But “Rich Sex” isn’t the only collaborative track we’re getting from Minaj. In a separate Instagram post earlier this week, the 35-year-old rapper said she’s dropping another single featuring Ariana Grande titled “Bed” this Thursday. Minaj and Grande have collaborated numerous times before, most recently on “Side to Side” from Grande’s Dangerous Woman. Grande has also confirmed that Minaj will appear on her upcoming record Sweetener.
“Rich Sex” follows Minaj’s previously released singles “Chun Li” and “Barbie Tingz.” The music video for “Barbie Tingz” sees Minaj and a group of dancers performing in front of a white backdrop while in a variety of costumes, including Minaj performing as a marionette and dressed in 18th century formal wear. For “Chun Li,” Minaj shot an Asian-inspired video where she plays an assassin who takes out anyone in her way.
These three singles are the first taste of new, solo music fans have received from Minaj since 2014’s The Pinkprint. It’s been years in the making, but we won’t have to wait much longer to hear her highly anticipated follow up. Her fourth studio album Queen is set to be released August 10, having been pushed back from its previously announced June 15 date.
In addition to the new track, Minaj also announced she will be embarking on a stadium tour this fall in support of Queen with fellow rapper Future. The NICKIHNDRXX Tour features 28 North American stops, and one Canadian stop in Toronto on October 1 before the superstar duo hits Europe for a two-month leg in early 2019.
